I Need Help

I've started realizing lately just how quickly our wedding is coming up and just how much we still have to do--mainly announcements right now. We got our engagements taken by my cousin Rachel, who did SUCH a good job! So we have the pictures and we have a couple that I think we've chosen to use for the announcements, but we don't know what to do about making the actual announcements. I thought it would be easy, but I honestly don't know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas about a relatively inexpensive way to get our announcements made or to make them ourselves? We're going to do just one picture separate from the announcement, so not postcard style, but we could really use some help here with suggestions. I figured my blog was a good place to ask for help since most of the people who read it are married, or at least girls who might know stuff about this. Thank you!!!!

Xpedx on state street has cards for local people who do wedding invitations and stuff. My roommate went with someone there and got a steal on prices. We went with "Invitations, etc." in the mall (they recently moved to a new location, though) and I loved our invitations, and the price was really good. DIY is a great way to go, too, and I've found some gorgeous places for inspiration. These two blogs are my favorite:

I second Rachel's recommendation for looking at Xpedx for blank announcement cards. They even have coordinating cards, envelopes, and thank yous.

As far as the picture goes we just had them printed at Sam's club in the size we wanted and included them with our announcement. Also, I ordered my announcements from an online discount place and they were beautiful. I don't remember where, but here's a site to get you started!

I just got the cutest announcement from a friend that would be so simple to make. I'll have to take a pic and send it to you. Also, this is not announcement related- but do you look at Grosgrain blog? She has been posting way cute wedding ideas for cheap! She has a tutorial for fabric flower bridesmaid bouquets and corsages, which is brilliant since fabric is wayyyy cheaper than flowers.

believe it or not, my sister found nice martha stewart wedding invites are joann's. they came blank and on really nice cardstock. all she had to do was personalize them on a computer with her favorite fancy font and stuff. good luck, becky! i can't wait to see them!

p.s. you two look great in your engagement pictures!
